Many stranded over floods on Lunga lunga- Ukunda highway

NAIROBI, Kenya, Oct 30- Motorists using the Lunga lunga – Ukunda road were warned that a section of the highway at Marenje area had flooded on Friday, rendering it impassable.

Kenya National Highway Authority(Kenha) said this was occasioned by the ongoing heavy rains and construction works for a new box culvert.

“Motorists are advised to exercise caution and try alternative routes including the Vanga – Shimoni road,” Kenha said in a statement.

The route connects the Kenya-Tanzania border and is popular with traders going into and out of Tanzania.
