NAIROBI, Kenya, Nov 5- A senior police officer at Narok county command is being detained at Bomet police station after he was found transporting cedar posts in a government vehicle.
The officer attached to Narok South sub county was with his brother who is a civilian when they were stopped at a road block in Longisa area, Narok county. Police say they are expected in court Thursday morning to face various charges.
The value of the posts is yet to be known.
The lorry with the posts were also detained.
Cases where government officials are arrested with such goods have been on the rise amid calls for prudence in the usage of vehicles and other resources.
