NAIROBI, Kenya, Nov 5- An underground electricity power cable to the Ngethu treatment plant was on Thursday damaged, affecting water supply to large parts of Nairobi.
Nairobi City Water and Sewerage Company said in a statement that the cable was damaged while their officers were laying the Kigoro-Ngethu-Gigiri pipeline.
Only parts of Kilimani, the Central Business Center in Nairobi, and Kenyatta hospitals will not be affected.
“Our technical team is on the ground to address the issue,” reads the statement.
“We urge all customers to use available water sparingly and to be patient as the problem is being resolved. Any inconvenience caused is highly regretted.”
It is not yet clear how long it will take to fix the cable
