NAIROBI, Kenya, November 13- The National Police Service was on Friday recognized as the Lead Government Partner Agency of the Year by the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA).
KRA commissioner for legal services and board coordination Paul Matuku, on behalf of Commissioner-General Githii Mburu, presented the award to the Inspector General of police Hilary Mutyambai.
He stated the Investigation and Enforcement Department at KRA- formed in 2004 as part of their Revenue Administration Program has enjoyed valued support by police investigators in enforcement of tax compliance.
Speaking at the event, Mutyambai lauded the partnership the service continues to harness with KRA.
As a result, he stated, close to 1000 police officers are attached to the agency installations, over 800 Administration Police Service officers at the borders and unlimited numbers of DCI personnel, the majority of them serving with KRA personnel in the collection of revenue and enforcement of law.
Mutyambai was flanked by the DIG Kenya police Edward Mbugua, the DIG APS Noor Gabow, and the Director of DCI George Kinoti.
