KWALE, Kenya, Dec 6- Who pulled the trigger and was it a case of murder or suicide?
Mystery surrounds the death of a police inspector and his wife in Kwale County, after they were found lying in a pool of their own blood in the Sunday morning incident.
Besides them was a Ceska pistol with three spent cartridges.
The officer is based at Lunga Lunga police station within the County.
“They’re both aged 28 years,” a detective privy to the incident and part of the on going investigations told Shahidi News.
Their bodies that have since been moved to the morgue awaiting post mortem had gunshot wounds.
Kwale County Commander Joseph Nthenge identified the deceased officer as Inspector Tonik Okoth.
He said police are investigating the incident to establish what caused their death.
But a cross section of witnesses said the two had been involved in a family dispute.
So did the officer shoot his wife dead and turned the gun on him?
Nthenge has urged police officers in the area to seek help when faced with family issues or other mentally draining challenges.
“Why commit suicide? Just seek help,” the County police boss said.
