KISII, Kenya, Dec 19- Kisii Central Sub County Commander Garbaba Darso on Saturday died after collapsing at his home.
The police boss had been unwell and was even on duty on Saturday morning when his colleagues realized he had died.
Darso had earlier morning talked to some of his colleagues on phone.
On Friday he was a team leader at a funeral on Keumbu area, Kisii County.
His body was discovered in his car moments after he had died.
He was apparently preparing to leave to hospital when he collapsed and died.
“He was feeling unwell, prepared himself to go to hospital but died in his car,” one officer at the compound said.
The cause of the death is yet to be known.
The body was moved to the mortuary where an autopsy is planned to tell the cause of the death.
There was panic at the station as news of the death spread. Cases where police collapse and die have been on the rise in the past months with some linking them to the COVID-19 pandemic.
