    Kilimani, Central have new police bosses in changes affecting 120 officers

    NAIROBI, Kenya, Mar 25- The National Police Service has announced changes affecting more than 100 police officers, following the recent promotions by the National Police Service Commission.

    Those affected in the latest changes are of the rank of a Sub County Police Commander.

    With new changes, several police divisions, including Kilimani, Central and Kasarani have received new police bosses.

    John Nyamu is the new Central SCPC, while Peter Nyaga has been moved to Kasarani in a similar capacity.

    In Kilimani, Andrew Muturi has been named the new police boss.

    Other changes include; William Kahindi (Nyamache), Samson Thuranira (Gucha South), Dorothy Mugarisha (Juja), Anderson Njagi (Isinya), Timon Odongo (Makadara), James Ngetich (Kisumu Central), Mohamed Guyo (Thika West) and Stephen Kirui (Lari).

    Several County Commanders were also confirmed to their positions.

    The officers comes at a time there’s renewed calls for stringent enforcement of COVID-19 protocols, at a times cases of infections have increased, including related fatalities.

    In Nairobi, those found flouting the rules are being subjected to a week of community service like cleaning up the streets and city markets.

    The country is also gearing up for a referendum to amend the constitution and shortly after, the 2022 General elections.
