NAIROBI, Kenya, May 21- A court in Nairobi on Friday released a man accused of stealing from his mother on Sh30,000 cash bail.
Gerald Mukiri, 30, is said to have broken into his mother’s house and proceeded to steal property worth Sh15,400.
Mukiri had earlier demanded for money from his mother.
He was arraigned before Kibera Chief Magistrate Joyce Gandani, where he was charged with malicious damage to property.
What is he accused of stealing?
The man is said to have stolen seven chickens, six sufuruias, and two pairs of shoes from his mother Lucy Muhoro, at her home in Uthiru, Kiambu County.
The incident occurred on May 20.
He was looking for money in his mother’s bedroom, after breaking into the house.
“He turned his mother’s beddings upside down during the incident,” the court heard.
His mother had declined to open the door.
