NAKURU, Kenya, May 27- Police are investigating the brutal killing of three people in Nakuru, in a shocking incident.
A mother, her child and their house help were found killed on Thursday and their house set on fire.
Miraculously, an infant was found in the house, alive, and was rescued.
The woman had stab wounds while her five year-old son had been strangled using a piece of cloth, police who spoke to Shahidi News said.
“Their bodies were lying lifeless on the floor of their house,” a witness who sought anonymity said.
The deceased woman was a secondary school teacher in the County.
Nakuru Sub County Deputy Commander David Wanyonyi said the house help, who was identified as Ann Wangari, had bruises on the head.
She was aged 45 years.
“We suspect the assailant had a mission to kill all of them and conceal the evidence by setting the house ablaze by lighting a mattress,” Wanyonyi told Shahidi News.
Police and locals in the Mzee Wanyama estate said the incident must have occurred at 6pm, after the woman arrived home from work.
“We suspect the assailant was trailing her from school,” the police said.
The deceased had just moved to the house a fortnight ago.
Her husband, who was not present when the incident happened, called for investigations, to establish who committed the heinous act
“I’m saddened that my loving wife has been killed. I will have to raise the three remaining kids alone,” a visibily traumatised Simon Kimani said.
Already, detectives are pursuing crucial leads, with hope of nabbing the killers.
