NAIROBI, Kenya, Jun 1- A man who was arrested by police after he was found with a fake pistol on Monday pleaded guilty to criminal charges, when he appeared before a court in Nairobi.
Ramadhan Ibrahim also admitted to have been in custody of a machete.
Police said the suspect was planning to commit robbery during the May 27 incident.
He pleaded guilty to all charges when he appeared before Senior Resident Magistrate Charles Mwaniki, at the Kibera Law Courts.
Ibrahim was nabbed by police officers who were on patrol in Katwekera area of Kibera, after members of the public raised alarm on him.
They accused him of being part of a gang that had been stealing from them on broad daylight.
According to the prosecution, Ibrahim has a previous criminal record.
He will be sentenced on June 16.
