LAMU, Kenya, Jun 21- Is she safe? Where did she go? Was she kidnapped or…?

These questions linger in the mind of a family in Lamu, after their relative went missing in mysterious circumstances.

At 5pm on Saturday, Fatma Swaleh stepped out of their house and went to buy some medicine, in a nearby chemist.

Hours later, her sister who was waiting for her in the house said, “she was not yet back. I became concerned.”

Khadija Muhsin has since reported the matter to police.

“We have looked for her everywhere even in our relatives’ residences but she is nowhere to be found. In case she is found, kindly contact the nearest police station,” Muhsin, the missing woman’s sister said.

While the circumstances that led to her missing remains unclear, such incidents have become common in the country.

Most of the cases have been linked to kidnapping.
