NAKURU, Kenya, Jun 29- A man has admitted stealing an ATM card belonging to his landlord and withdrawing Sh150,000 in Nakuru,
The man had earlier in the day before he committed the crime been given the ATM card and given the pin number by the landlord, to withdraw Sh5,000 on May 4, 2021.
The landlord has eye problems and must rely on the help of a trusted person to withdraw cash from his bank account.
The man, who has since been charged in court, said he used the money to construct a home at his rural home in Kisii.
He moved his family from the rental house in Nakuru to Kisii after that.
On Tuesday, a Nakuru court requested for a pre-sentence report of the 35-year-old identified as Vincent Ontweka.
Principal Magistrate Yvonne Khatambi is set to sentence the man on July 1.
Ontweka was traced to his rural home in Ogembo in Kisii County where he was arrested after days of engaging in hide and seek with his former landlord.
The court was told that he had not paid rent for one year, when he committed the crime.
He had rented the house for 10 years.
