MERU, Kenya, Jul 6- Detectives from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) have arrested a former County Executive in Charge of Sports in Meru, for allegedly forging his education papers.
Daniel Kiogora was arrested after EACC received intelligence reports that he forged his Bachelor of Commerce Degree Certificate from the University of Nairobi.
He is said to have used the forged document to secure his job.
“Investigations were conducted and the file was forwarded to ODPP with recommendations to charge the County Official for forgery,” the EACC said.
Director of Public Prosecutions Noordin Haji, the anti-graft body said, “after reviewing of the file concurred with the EACC recommendations and approved charges of forgery, uttering, deceiving and providing false information.”
He will be charged in Court on Tuesday morning following his arrest on Monday.
