NAIROBI,Kenya, July 21 – Police will continue detaining vendor,Joel Njeru after he allegedly scalded one of his customers,Lucas Kamau on the face using a corrosive substance.
Njeru who was arraigned at the Kibera Law Courts is accused of causing grievous harm to Kamau, after he declined to purchase his products leading to an altercation.
He sells herbal products at the Kihumbuini market in Kangemi, Nairobi county.
Kamau has since been admitted at the PCEA Kikuyu Mission Hospital where he is battling lose of sight.
Attempts by the suspect to be released on bail was opposed by the prosecution.
Police are meanwhile pursuing other suspects said to be working with Njeru and took part in the scalding during the fateful day.
The accused was apprehended by members of the public before police took him to the Kabete police station.
