Bodaboda Rider Arrested In Kisumu For Defiling A Minor

KISUMU,Kenya, July 27 – An alarm was raised after the mother of the victim noticed her child was in agonizing pain while walking.

The 13 year-old confided in her mother and revealed that a bodaboda rider known to her had sexually defiled her on numerous occasions. 

Josephat Odhiambo, a 26 year-old, was arrested by the area assistant chief and later transferred to the Nyamasaria patrol base.

She was positively identified by the minor who narrated the unforgivable ordeal that happened to her.

“She told authorities that the suspect defiled her this past Friday and that it had happened on several other occasions” said the area chief.

The minor has since been admitted to the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital.

Kisumu county commander Samuel Anampiu confirmed the incident stating that the suspect will be arraigned and charged with defiling a minor.

“She is undergoing treatment at the Gender wing of the hospital and we wish her quick recovery,” he said.
