NAIROBI, Kenya, Aug 25- Police in Meru are looking for a prison warder who is missing amid claims he is on a mission to kill in Thika.
The warder has been missing since Tuesday morning and is armed with a G3 rifle loaded with 20 bullets.
Police say he was last seen at Kangeta shopping centre carrying the weapon in a sack and was headed to Thika for a mission following an alleged disagreement with his wife over some Sh900,000.
A team of police and prison officials was mobilized to look for him but he is yet to be found.
Security teams have been put on standby to guard the said woman.
Incidents of murder suicide among police and prisons officers have in the past months been on the rise amid calls to tame the trend.
