NAIROBI, Kenya, Oct 29- The National Police Service Sacco has launched a new hospital in Juja, to cater to the medical needs of residents and police officers.
The hospital was constructed at the General Service Unit camp in the Kimbo area in Juja at a tune of Sh26.8 million.
The level two facility was opened for use on Thursday.
It is expected to serve thousands of civilians in Kiambu County, as well as police officers.
“The facility will go a long way in aiding the operation of officers,” Deputy Inspector General of Police Edward Mbugua said.
“It will also promote the working relationship between police and members of the public.”
He challenged the Kiambu County government to equip the hospital, for it to be fully operational.
The police Sacco national chairperson David Sohelo said plans were underway to upgrade the hospital to become a level three facility.
