LAIKIPIA, Kenya, Nov 3- Multiagency security teams in Laikipia County today conducted a free Medical Camp at Ol Moran Center where residents received treatment on various illnesses such as Malaria, Diarrheal, Respiratory tract infections, and hypertension.
They further received health advice on nutrition and common illnesses. Over 100 patients were treated during the exercise.
The team also visited Ol Moran maternity clinic and Health Centre and donated medical equipment as well as assorted drugs.
Led by Commanding Officer 5th Kenya Riffles Lieutenant Colonel Dennis Obiero, the troops donated a Portable Pressure Steam Sterilizer, a delivery bed, a space heater, and drugs to the institution to leverage on the current bed and drug shortage.
The equipment were received by Henry Kemboi, the Clinical Officer of the Health Centre.
Lt Colonel Obiero assured the residents that the multiagency team will continue to support the Health Centre so as to improve service delivery to residents.
He advised pregnant mothers to attend prenatal clinics and delivery to avoid complications and infant deaths that are avoidable.
