NAROK,Kenya, Nov, 20 – Police in Kilgoris town have launched a manhunt for three suspects who escaped from their cells at night.
The three, identified as Shadrack Leparan, Enock Ndege and Patrick Mausa are reported to have escaped the police cells through a hole in the wall.
A report filed at Kilgoris Police Station showed that the three escaped by breaking the cell wall.
Jalus Okoa, the officer on duty when the suspects vanished, told his seniors that he did not notice that the suspects escaped from the cells.
“The prisoners had created a hole on the brick wall by removing some bricks next to the cell doors facing the report office,” reads the report.
There were a total of five suspects in the cell and the two who stayed back told the police officers that they also did not notice the escape of their cellmates.
Police have been forced to open an inquiry file after the night duty officer also denied seeing the suspects escape.
