NAIROBI,Kenya, Nov, 24 – A suspected criminal was Tuesday night shot dead and another injured in a botched robbery incident in Mwiki area of Nairobi county.
According to preliminary reports, the injured suspect was taken to hospital with a bullet wound in the back.
Police say the suspects were in a group of four and had been violently robbing pedestrians in the area when an alarm was raised.
They were apparently armed with knives and other crude weapons while attacking and robbing the victims.
The body of the deceased is being preserved in the local mortuary.
Meanwhile police say the second victim nursing injuries in hospital will be arraigned after being cleared by the hospital.
Cases of armed robberies have been on the rise amid calls for heightened operations to tame the trend.
