Sources say that the militants initially targeted the lorry using a rocket propelled grenade (RPG) and later resulted to using their firearms after missing their target.

The militants are further said to have sprayed bullets towards the lorry forcing the driver to speed off in a bid to save lives.
The injured officers are currently receiving treatment at a local hospital as a contingent of officers have been deployed to the area in a bid to restore normalcy and apprehend the terrorists according to North Eastern Regional Police Commander Rono Bunei.
