NAIROBI,Kenya, Dec, 14 – Security has been beefed up at the Bomas of Kenya in Nairobi where a new political party- Democratic Action Party-Kenya is set too be unveiled.
The party is associated with defence Cabinet Secretary Eugene Wamalwa.
Officials say the party plans to field candidates for all positions except the presidential race in next year’s August polls.
The party is set to adopt an image of a leopard as its official emblem.
The new political outfit is believed to be part of the Azimio La Umoja movement ,geared towards ensuring ODM party leader Raila Odinga secures the presidency.
At the event it is expected that members will ratify the party’s Constitution as well as consider and adopt a National Executive Council committed towards implementing ts resolutions.
Minimal traffic may be anticipated in the area with adequate police officers being deployed on the roads as well as as at the event incase of any skirmishes as has been witnessed in similar events.
