    Police Detain Man Alleged To have Killed 19-Year Old Lover In Dagoretti

    NAIROBI,Kenya, Dec, 16 – Simon Masafu Omoyo was arraigned at the Kibera Law Courts where detectives probing an incident where he is accused of allegedly killing his 19-year old lover identified as Esther Nyamache Sebe sought to detain him for seven days in order to conclude investigations.

    The suspect according to preliminary reports is alleged to have inflicted bodily injuries on his lover and later rushed her to Eagle’s Medical Centre in Dagoretti to receive treatment.

    According to medical personnel she died shortly after arriving the hospital.

    Medics immediately notified police of the incident and Omoyo was arrested.

    In his application to detain the suspect, Corporal Elphas Ngetich of Dagoretti DCI offices while appearing before senior principal magistrate Philip Mutua said that detectives required seven days to probe the case to its entirety, interview witnesses as well as allow time for a postmortem examination.

    Sebe died on December14,2021.

    Mutua allowed police to detain the suspect for seven days. He will be held at the Kabete police station.

    The case is set to be mentioned on December,22,2021.

    Omoyo is said to have met the deceased earlier this year and later moved in together at his home in Gathondeki area of Kawangware in Nairobi county.
