NAIROBI, Kenya, Dec 23- Dennis Itumbi, a firebrand supporter of Deputy President William Ruto has been abducted and taken to an unknown location according to his friends.

Itumbi, who is known for his Hustlers Nation Investigative Bureau, a platform he uses to expose what he terms as highly confidential information against government officials and senior politicians, was at a barbershop when the incident happened.

A friend of Itumbi, who spoke to Shahidi News on condition of anonymity said he was abducted by three men, all wearing a balaclava.

“They looked like they were armed,” the friend said. ‘“They had already sped off before people would have tried to rescue Itumbi.”

The matter has been reported at the Thindigua police post.

“We have the report and we are actively looking for him,” a senior police officer who did not want to be named told Shahidi News.

According to witnesses, Itumbi’s efforts to flee from the “gigantic men” were futile.

“He was screaming,” a witness told Shahidi News. “It was too fast for anyone to do anything.”

His last political Tweet was about the alleged ‘weakening’ of former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, who lile DP Ruto, is seeking to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta.

In August this year, Itumbi recorded a statement with detectives at the Kasarani police station, after he was allegedly shot at while driving.

During the incident, he was headed to Red Sport restaurant to pick dinner, at about 8pm.
