    Mohamed Maalim Named New Rift Valley RC. See Other Changes

    NAIROBI, Kenya, Jan 13- Nairobi and Rift Valley regions have new Regional Commissioners (RC) in changes announced by the Office of the President.

    Also affected were Western, Eastern, Central, and North Eastern regions.

    The new Nairobi RC will be William Kang’ethe Thuku who was two weeks ago named the Chief Administrative Secretary for Correctional Services.

    Thuku replaces James Kianda who has been transferred to North Eastern in the same capacity.

    Kianda replaces former National Intelligence Service (NIS) officer who has been transferred to the Office of the President, Harambee House.

    The new Rift Valley RC will be Makueni County Commissioner Mohamed Maalim. This follows the resignation of George Natembeya from Rift Valley as the RC to seek to be elected as Trans-Nzoia County Governor.

    Eastern RC Isaiah Nakoru was moved to Western in the same capacity and replaced by Narok County Commissioner Evans Achoki on a promotional basis.

    Western’s RC Esther Maina was moved to Central in the same capacity while Nairobi’s James Kianda was sent to North Eastern to replace Nicodemus Ndalana who was recalled to Harambee House.

    Central RC Wilfred Nyangwanga was recalled to Harambee House.

    Even though he resigned, Natembeya was moved to Harambee House where he will clear his way out.

    He is seeking to become the next Trans-Nzoia County Governor. Natembeya resigned after 26 years in service.

    In the changes by Interior Principal Secretary, 24 County Commissioners have been affected.

    The new Narok county commissioner is Isaac Wanyonyi Masinde, a senior deputy secretary at OOP

    Lukas Katee Mwanza, a Senior Deputy Secretary at OOP has been moved to Mombasa where he replaces Gilbert Kitiyo Benjamin who has been moved to Makueni.

    Rhoda Nyaboke Onyancha has been moved from Taita Taveta to Machakos where he replaces John Otieno Ondego who has been moved to Kakamega.

    Embu Commissioner Abdulla Galgalo Hiddi has been moved to Nyeri where he replaces Loyford Ephuntus Kibaara who has been moved to Taita Taveta.

    The new Embu commissioner is Eddyson Haro Nyale who has been moved from Harambee House.

    Samburu commissioner Abdirisack Jaldesa has swapped positions with his Baringo counterpart, Henry Orawo Wafula.

    Elgeyo Marakwet’s commissioner Ahamed Omar Ahmed has also swapped positions with his Busia counterpart, John Kipngetich Korir.

    Jesse Ochillo Oyugi has been moved from Vihiga to Harambee House. Oyugi has been replaced John Otieno Odhiambo who was the senior deputy county commissioner Samburu Central

    Pauline Anyango Dola has been transferred from Kakamega to Nyanza as the Nyanza commissioner’s personal assistant.

    More reorganization is set to be effected as the country nears the August 9 polls.
