KISII, Kenya, Jan 13- A 40-year-old man will remain in police custody for two weeks, pending the conclusion of investigations into his role in the death of his 7-month pregnant wife.
Preliminary investigations have linked the man to the murder of Everline Kerubo.
The suspect, Paul Mutai is said to have killed Kerubo using a blunt object.
At the time, Kerubo was in the bathroom taking a shower.
Mutai was arraigned before Kisii Law Court on Wednesday. The killing occurred on Monday.
The court granted police 14 days to conclude investigations.
The murder suspect had earlier been rescued from irate villagers, who wanted to lynch him.
He was first taken to Igonga Police post and later transferred to Gesonso police station.
The case will come up in court for plea taking and further directions on January 27.
