KIAMBU,Kenya, Feb, 4 – The Kenya Civil Aviation Authority has launched investigations after a Cessna 5Y-CFT aircraft Thursday evening (at around 4.20pm) crash landed at Nova Pioneer International School at Tatu City in Ruiru, Kiambu County.
According to preliminary reports, the aircraft’s landing gear disengaged about five minutes before landing between Limuru and Kiambu Town resulting in the incident.
The aircraft is said to have been flying from Naivsha.
“It was from Naivasha and was heading to an airstrip in Tatu city,” said Ruiru Sub-County police commander Cecilia Kemboi.
The plane was occupied by the pilot alone who did not sustain any injuries but was taken to hospital for observation.
“KCAA will do a full investigation and establish what happened,” said Ruiru DCIO Justus Ombati,
It is said that the aircraft belongs to an industrial company within the area.
