KISII, Kenya, Feb 7- If elected the next Governor of Kisii County, Chief Administrative Secretary in charge of Roads and Infrastructure Chris Obure has promised free internet to residents of Kisii County.
The CAS said he will ensure free internet connectivity to the residents of the populous County.
He said internet connection to all places will ensure the residents are tech-savvy and can access online services at will.
He was speaking on Monday when he unveiled his Deputy Governor ahead of the August 9 elections.
He is seeking to succeed the current governor, James Ongwae, who is serving his second and final term.
“The world has moved to the digital era, we should also move and by doing this we need gadgets and internet to get updated in the new world,” he said.
He said the free internet will help the jobless youth in Kisii County seek opportunities online, research or simply learn and sell their products.
He also committed to priorities education, again promising to provide a full scholarship to the needy but bright students.
“Technology and education are my first priority, in the future as we head to the campaigns, I am going to share my manifesto with you and also listen to your needs for us to make Kisii a better county, “ he said.
His running mate will be William Mbaka, who hails from Kitutu South.
He also rooted for Charles Onyancha as the most suitable candidate for the Senatorial position.
