NAIROBI, Kenya, Apr 22- The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has announced that it will give special consideration to teachers in arid and semi-arid areas, during promotions.
Cavin Anyour, the TSC Director of Legal and Industrial Relations says said the commission had already adopted what he termed a special promotion system, to ensure such teachers are not disadvantaged.
He was speaking during the ongoing Kenya Secondary Schools Heads Association annual forum in Mombasa.
The meeting will end on Friday.
KESSHA chairperson Kahi Indimuli urged TSC not to peg new promotions on the level of school one is in.
“Let us not peg promotions to the type of school one is leading,” he said.
