NAIROBI, Kenya, May 9- Deputy President William Ruto says Kenyans have rejected what he terms as politics of deceit and conmanship after Machakos Governor Dr. Alfred Mutua joined the Kenya Kwanza alliance.
This was in reference to his political nemesis and Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Alliance presidential candidate Raila Odinga, whom he has accused of shortchanging his political partners.
Mutua said he had left Azimio on Monday and joined Ruto’s Kenya Kwanza.
Mutua will now be campaigning for DP Ruto to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta, as Kenya’s fifth President.
Mutua said he made the decision after Azimio failed to make public the coalition agreement signed with affiliate parties, despite his threat to file a case in court.
Leaders allied to Ruto have welcomed Mutua, “to the winning side.”
