Police Officer Accused Of Killing Man in 2019 Arrested

KISII, Kenya, Jun 21- A police Constable at Sigomere police station in Ugunja Subcounty in Siaya has been arrested over a murder offence he is accused of committing in 2019 while stationed at Masimba police station, Masaba South in Kisii.

Vincent Langat while responding to a creating disturbance call at a local bar in Ramasha trading center, he is said to have assaulted one Onditi Omwancha.

Omwancha succumbed to injuries a few days later.

His arrest comes after the Director of Public Prosecution agreed with the recommendation of inquiry by the Independent Police Oversight Authority IPOA to charge the said officer with the offence of murder.
