NAIROBI,Kenya, Jun, 21 – Uhuru Secondary School, Nairobi was Monday evening closed indefinitely following the death of a student in unclear circumstances.
Police were investigating the cause of a fire that broke out at the school and burnt down two dormitories Sunday night when the news of the death was announced.
Police had initially said he was not affected by the fire.
The student had come from the field after a basketball game and told his friends that he was not feeling well.
He went to sleep but fell unconscious before he was taken to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The cause of the death of the form three student is yet to be established.
The fire broke out from one the dormitories and burnt down rooms accommodating 119 form four students. Experts are expected in the area to probe the incident.
