NAIROBI, Kenya, Jun, 22- Machakos gubernatorial candidate Wavinya Ndeti was at the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) headquarters where she was questioned for several hours amid a probe over her academic certificates.
Two petitioners had last week filed a complaint over the authenticity of her certificate which is a requisite requirement for any candidate to be cleared by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) in order to compete for a gubernatorial seat.
Wavinya is being investigated over alleged forgery allegations.
Gideon Ngewa and Kisilu Mutisya had filed a petition before the poll body’s dispute resolution committee, calling for the revocation of her clearance certificate on the grounds that she did not meet the threshold.
Ndeti claims to have obtained a degree (Bsc) in Computing Studies from South Bank University London.
Ndeti was grilled by detectives from the Serious Crimes Unit.
Meanwhile, Meru gubernatorial candidate Mithika Linturi failed to turn up at the DCI headquarters despite being summoned.
