NAKURU, Kenya, Jun, 26 – Mawanga area, Bahati sub-county in Nakuru county is under the spotlight from detectives based in the area after three women were mysteriously killed in the last fortnight.

Panic is fast spreading in the area with residents saying that some people have been forced to flee their homes amid fear of similar incidents being committed.

Preliminary reports have indicated that unknown assailants have resulted in meting violence on residents. Shockingly, the attacks are being committed during the daytime with scores reporting that they have been robbed of their valuables.

This past Friday, the latest victim of the gruesome killings was Diana Opicho who was found dead at her home.

The 25-year-old is said to have been attacked and killed by two men that initially posed as electrical technicians at around 2 pm on the fateful day.

“It was early in the afternoon around 2 pm, when we went to the house there was no sign of forced entry so we assume they were invited in,” said, Justus Juma, a relative.

Police also revealed that nothing was reported missing from her house.

Area DCI Boss Wesley Langat confirmed the incident and said that sleuths are probing two other similar incidents.

Another slain woman, Susan Wambui was found dead last week as her house was set ablaze. She was reportedly killed in front of her three-year-old son.

“We spoke with the IG and regional police, we are working tirelessly to restore peace,” said Interior CS Dr. Fred Matiang’i.

A manhunt for the perpetrators is ongoing amid safety concerns by residents.
