LAMU, Kenya, Jul, 19 – Police in Lamu have arrested a terror suspect and recovered a cache of weapons.
Sources say police recovered a rocket-propelled grenade launcher and a warhead among others.
The recovery was made in Milimani area of the Coastal County.
The County has over the years experienced the brunt of terrorism due to its expansive Boni Forest that extends to Somalia.
Al-Shabaab militants have used the forest as a training and hide-out ground.
A multi-agency security operation to weed out terrorists from the area has been ongoing for years.
There have been cases of ethnically driven attacks in cosmopolitan areas of the County blamed on extremists.
