KAJIADO, Kenya, Jul, 21 – Police in Rongai, Kajiado county had a hard time dealing with students from Co-operative University who took to the streets to protest the killing of one of their own.
The rowdy students closed part of Gataka road and disrupted business as they accused police of laxity in dealing with insecurity in the area.
The students were demonstrating after a third-year male student was stabbed to death by armed robbers within the area.
Vincent Omwamba was reportedly attacked by an unknown gang last night as he he made his way home. the deceased was in the company of his friends who escaped the wrath of the gang. he was a third year student majoring in information technology at the university.
Police say investigations into his killing have commenced as they compile evidence to nab his killers.
