KAKAMEGA, Kenya, Jul 19-A 20-year-old girl stabbed to death her brother, following a family dispute.
The deceased, 24-year-old Oscar Chimwani was stabbed on his chest.
He passed on hours later as the family struggled to seek medical attention.
According to the family led by their mother Alice Chimwani, the misunderstanding between the two started in March 2022 after their deceased father was buried.
During the funeral, Selvin Ayuma who is also the accused person, is said to have got into a relationship with one of the police officers based at Eshihongo police post.
The relationship was not well received by the family especially the brother.
Chimwani had claimed that the officer disrespected the family and has been moving in and out of their home without boundaries.
This intensified the fights between the two siblings.
Eventually, Ayuma packed and left her home.
Her return to pick a mattress that was previously used by her late father sparked the war. She stabbed her brother to death.
The deceased’s body is lying at Kakamega general hospital awaiting a post mortem examination.
The accused has since been arrested.
