NAIROBI, Kenya, Aug 9- Agano Party presidential candidate David Mwaure Waihiga has urged Kenyans to come out in large numbers and cast their votes, saying it is their right.
Mwaure cast his vote in Upper Hill, Nairobi County while in the company of his wife and other family members.
He said voting is not only a constitutional right but also “a sacred or divine right.”
“You will be fulfilling a divine mandate,” he said. “I am looking forward to a new and bright future.”
Mwaure is one of the four Presidential candidates in the August 9, 2022, general elections.
He is running on a platform of change and new leadership in Kenya and even with opinion polls placing him behind his rivals, he believes a majority of Kenyans will rally behind his bid on the day of the elections.
“This is a golden moment,” he said. “I expect to win…I have dreams. I am coming with a big broom and make Kenya great, as it should be.”
If he loses, he committed to concede, “and shake the hands of the winner.”
