BARINGO, Kenya, Aug, 12 – Incumbent Baringo senator Gideon Moi has lost his seat to William Cheptumo of the United Democratic Alliance (UDA).
The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) declared Cheptumo as the winner of the elections after garnering 141,777 votes.
The KANU party leader secured 71,408 votes.
Cheptumo was Baringo North MP.
Cheptumo has now pledged to spur development in the country that has been battling insecurity changes for years.
