NAIROBI, Kenya, Aug, 14 – Agano Party Presidential candidate David Mwaure has conceded defeat in the Presidential race even as the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC), is yet to announce the winner of the contest.
Mwaure during a press conference thanked Kenyans for their support but said the outcome of the polls would soon be known as Kenyans wait with bated breath.
“I wish to concede defeat in the presidential elections of 2022 whose verification is ongoing at Bomas. This I am doing after seeing what my performance has been and after discussions with my team in Bomas,” he said.
Surprisingly, while citing the low voter turnout, Mwaure endorsed UDA’s William Ruto for the presidency.
“I have also with my team been following the ongoing exercise at Bomas and indicate that the figure there are and have been consistent and undoubtfully in favour of William Samoei Arap Ruto the current Deputy president of the Republic of Kenya. I urge IEBC to be fervent in declaring his win when it is time to do so,” added Mwaure.
IEBC is expected to make the official announcement on who the winner of the presidential contest will be.
