NAIROBI, Kenya, Sept, 6 – President-elect William Ruto Tuesday held a phone conversation with french president Emmanuel Macron, a day after theĀ Supreme Court of Kenya upheld his victory amid a petition by Azimio La Umoja – One Kenya Alliance presidential candidate Raila Odinga seeking the nullification of the results.
The unanimous verdict was issued by Chief Justice Martha Koome on behalf of the 7-Judge bench.
The two discussed a wide range of issues while committing to strengthen the ties set up by outgoing president Uhuru Kenyatta in 2019 during his visit to the European nation.
Back in 2019 Macron visited Kenya where he held bilateral talks with President Kenyatta.
Health, Agriculture, and infrastructure are expected to form the basis of the relations moving forward as the long-standing parents usher in a new era.
Kenya has long been seen as a beacon of hope within the East African region with France said to greatly assist the country in the war against violent extremism.
