NAIROBI, Kenya, Oct, 25 – A businessman is counting losses after more than 100 chickens he has been rearing were killed in a fire incident in Mathare slums, Nairobi county.
According to preliminary reports, more than 10 structures were burnt in the Monday night incident that left many homeless.
The cause of the fire is yet to be established.
The fire also burnt water tanks and sacks of cereals the businessman had kept in his house.
Police said Tuesday an investigation had been opened to establish the cause of the fire.
