NAIROBI, Kenya, Oct, 27 – With President William Ruto’s Cabinet now fully in office after taking their oath of service at State House Nairobi, the head of state has instructed that they hit the ground running and serve the people of Kenya.
Ruto who is facing a dilapidated economy amid the rising cost of living said that he has a lot of work on his hands and that he must deliver his promises to Kenyans while striving to further ease the cost of living.
“In the discharge of your duties, in the various ministries that you will be serving, you will have my wholesome support because you have no other option than to succeed. Failure is not an option, we have a country to look after, we have a plan to implement and we have the people of Kenya watching us,” said the president.
Ruto who ran on an economic transformation agenda while championing institutionalism and the rule of law has called on his Cabinet Secretaries to execute their mandate without compromising their integrity.
“You are going to serve the people of Kenya and you have been appointed to the Cabinet of Kenya. I know there are regional and community persuasions but I haven’t appointed a Cabinet for any region or county or any community. I expect you to respect your oath of office and serve Kenyans equally,”
“I expect each and every one of you as I do of all public servants, to uphold the constitution and the rule of law to be at the front and center of our government. That should be the guiding principle,” the he said.
Ruto said that his government will be an open book and that his plans will be clear fr all to see and scrutinize.
“My intention and that of my deputy is to run a clear and accountable government, we have no grey areas, and we have nothing to hide. We want to serve Kenyans in a manner that upholds integrity,” he said.

Ruth’s cabinet will consist of: Musalia Mudavadi who is the Prime Cabinet Secretary, Kithure Kindiki interior and Coordination of National Government, Simon Chelugui (Co-operatives), Aden Duale (Defence), Njuguna Sospeter Ndung’u (Treasury), Davis Chirchir (Energy), Alfred Mutua (Foreign Affairs), Alice Wahome (Water), and Ababu Namwamba (Sports).
Former Kwale Governor Salim Mvurya will be CS Mining, Kipchumba Murkomen (Transport), Soipan Tuya (Forestry), Moses Kiarie Kuria (Trade), Ezekiel Machogu Ombaki (Education), Aisha Jumwa Karisa Katana (Gender), Eliud Okech Owalo (ICT), Rebecca Miano (EAC), Susan Nakhumicha Wafula (Health), Peninah Malonza (Tourism), Zacharia Mwangi Njeru (Lands), Franklin Mithika Linturi (Agriculture), and Florence Koske Bore (Labour).
Also forming part of the cabinet include, Justin Muturi who is the Attorney General and Mercy Wanjau who will serve as Secretary to the Cabinet.
