Kenya-USA To Expand Bilateral Trade Ties

NAIROBI, Kenya, Nov, 5 – Kenya and the United States of America have restated the two countries’ commitment to pursue strong working relations that advance bilateral trade ties.

Ministry of Trade, Investments and Industry Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria and the United States Trade Representative Ambassador Katherine Tai who made the commitment during a virtual meeting said the trade is geared towards advancing the two countries’ common interests.

Kuria and Tai said they will expand bilateral trade with benefits that are broadly shared and will include various stakeholders in the business sector among them women, youth, and people supporting micro, small and medium enterprises, and the African continental trade integration.

The two who shared objectives of their governments as reflected in the joint statement launching the Kenya-United States Strategic Trade Investment Partnership on July 14 this year said they were looking forward to meeting in person during the upcoming United States-African Leaders Summit set for December this year in Washington.

Tai while congratulating Kuria for his new appointment to head the Trade docket said it was an honour for her to head the Presidential delegation to President William Ruto’s inauguration on September 13, this year.

“We were happy to meet him and to learn his vision for Kenya,” said Tai.
