NAIROBI, Kenya, Nov 8 -The nominee for the Inspector General of Police post, Japhet Koome has told Members of Parliament that his net worth is Sh89.9 million.
Koome says that his net worth includes 37 hectares of land in his rural home and two plots in Kitengela, Motor vehicles, two tractors, and savings in Sacco.
Koome was being vetted by a joint committee of members of the National Assembly’s Administration and Internal Affairs committee and the Senate’s National Security, Defence and Foreign Relations committee on November 8 at Parliament.
After the exercise, the committee will retreat to write a report, which will then be presented before Parliament for the nominee’s approval or rejection.
Koome was nominated by President William Ruto when he announced his cabinet in mid-October.
