KIAMBU, Kenya, Nov 10 – Police in Juja are investigating a mysterious incident where a 39-year-old man killed himself moments after stabbing his 30-year-old girlfriend in an apartment in Juja town, Kiambu County.

The Juja Sub-County Police Commander Phyllis Muthoni said that Daniel Mwangi attacked his girlfriend Jane Njogu stabbing her several times in the back and in the stomach using a kitchen knife. The victim bled to death.

Mwangi is said to have used the same knife to slit his throat in an attempt to take his own life.

Police officers who were called to the scene rushed him to Thika Level 5 Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

The body of the woman was found lying in a pool of blood and it was transferred to Thika’s General Kago Funeral home. It is believed that the two were fighting over infidelity issues

Kiambu police boss Perminus Kioi said that they are yet to establish the motive of the incident but police have since launched investigations to establish what could have led to the murder of the woman who was ran operating an MPESA shop in Juja town.
