NYAMIRA, Kenya Jan. 1 -The mutilated body of a teacher who went missing on December 30 was on Sunday found hidden in a house belonging to a nurse in Nyamira County.
Ezekiel Nkeere Gitangwa, 47, was last seen on Friday morning when he was dropped off by a boda boda rider at Egisieri village, West Mugirango.
Investigations were launched and detectives were led to the house of Agneta Agwata, a nurse at Nyamaiya Health Centre.
“A search was mounted and intelligence led detectives to a house in Egesieri belonging to one Agneta Agwata, a nurse at Nyamaiya Health Centre,” police said.
Officers broke the door where the body, which had started decomposing, was found covered in a purple carpet in one o the rooms used as a poultry house.
The deceased’s wife, Gladys Bonareri Achoki told the police that his phone went off a few hours after he left home.
She however assumed that the phone had run out of power and hoped to see him back home in the evening.
The main suspect in the murder has not been traced and police have launched investigations to establish the motive of the killing.
The body of the deceased teacher has been moved to Nyamira County Hospital Mortuary awaiting post-mortem.
