    Man Lynched For ‘Stabbing’ Sex Worker

    NAIROBI, Kenya, Jan 20 – A man was nearly lynched by members of the public at a sex den in Majengo, Nairobi, for allegedly stabbing a sex worker with a chisel. 

    Mohamed Barak Sam was charged at the Makadara Law Courts was charged with assault and causing bodily harm to the said sex worker on January 17, 2023.

    He is said to have stabbed her on the chest, and was rescued by police officers from the angry mob that was baying for his blood after the incident.

    He sustained serious injuries on his whole body and during his arraignment Barak could not stand up, saying that he was in pain.

    According to police, Barak had gone to the sex den to have a good time but disagreed on what to pay her.

    An argument ensued between the two and Barak stabbed her. The victim locked him in the room the two had taken and raised alarm which caught the attention of members of the public, who responded by beating Barak.

    He was rescued by police officers on patrol who took him to the Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH) where he was treated and discharged.

    He denied the charges before Senior Resident Magistrate Mercy Malingu and was released on a cash bail of Sh10, 000. The magistrate ordered that he be taken to KNH for further treatment. The case will be mentioned on January 23.
