Police are holding a 21-year-old university student who stabbed her boyfriend in the chest after her boyfriend broke up with her. The third-year student at Bomet University had gone to visit her boyfriend, 25, who is also a third-year student at the same college.
According to the police, she went to visit him accompanied by a female friend when he broke the news to her. Agitated by the news, the girl removed a kitchen knife she was hiding in her undergarments and stabbed her boyfriend. Her friend restrained her before she could inflict more injuries on the victim and called for help from the estate’s residents.
The boyfriend, who collapsed after the attack, was rushed unconscious to Tenwek hospital.
The girl was arrested by school security officers and handed over to Bomet central police station for interrogation.
In BuruBuru police over the weekend arrested a woman after she also allegedly killed her boyfriend.
The suspect, identified as Eunice Mwikali, informed the deceased niece that her uncle had succumbed at the Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH) to injuries after an attack by unknown people.
According to the suspect, her boyfriend had been attacked and stabbed on the back and right side ribcage. During interrogation, police said that the suspect did not give a satisfactory explanation of what happened and was escorted to her house where police found the deceased mobile phone and clothes.
She was arrested and placed in custody to assist police with investigations.
Meanwhile, police in Donholm on Saturday launched investigations after a man was stabbed by his friend on the stomach. According to an eyewitness, the two men were chasing each other in Donhoolm shopping center when of the men drew a knife and stabbed his friend.
The suspect is said to have escaped with the knife after the incident, while the victim was rushed to Mama Lucy Kibaki Hospital in serious condition.
