Police Seize Contraband Goods, Fake KRA Stamps At A Kericho House

KERICHO, Kenya, Mar 16 – A multi-agency team Wednesday recovered assorted contraband goods including fake Kenya Revenue Authority stamps in a residential house in Kericho.

The contraband goods were recovered following a search in the house at Sumeiyo Village within Kericho East Sub-county.

Apart from fake rolls of KRA stamps, the police and KRA officers seized 13 drums of 250 liters each containing liquid suspected to be ethanol, assorted stickers, and bottle tops of various bottling companies.

Other impounded goods were 199 cartons of Best Vodka, 221 cartons of Space Vodka, and 218 cartons of Smart Vodka.

“Also recovered were a carton of Kane Extra and 65 cartons of Venice Vodka, and 58 cartons of Tycoon Vodka among others,” the police report read.

Preliminary investigations suggested that all the items were counterfeit.
